Insider Reveals the Most Recent Trade Offers for Connor Hellebuyck
Explore the latest on Hellebuyck trade offers as the Jets remain cautious despite Connor Hellebuyck’s eagerness to be traded.
The Winnipeg Jets are trying to trade goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. Hellebuyck is anxious to be traded. As it stands, nothing is close and there’s no imminent trade on the horizon. As for why, a lot of that has to do with the urgency from other teams to acquire the netminder and the offers the Jets have received.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli reports, “They haven’t received anything even close that makes them excited.” As such, the Jets aren’t going to force or hurry a trade, which isn’t the ideal situation for Hellebuyck.
“They have the weapon of time,” he adds. “Hellebuyck wants to play, and I’m sure he doesn’t want to lose $39K a day. There will be pressure points, like if their goalies struggle, but right now it seems they will be patient.”

The Carolina Hurricanes are said to have shown interest in Hellebuyck. The Buffalo Sabres were interested around the NHL Draft. Seravalli loosely linked the Edmonton Oilers in a recent column, but called it a long shot, given that there hasn’t been an indication that Hellebuyck is open to joining another Canadian team.
How does this all end? That’s a tough call, given the lack of action on trade discussions. The offers have been “awful” reported Darren Dreger a few weeks ago. Seravalli’s update suggests nothing has changed in that regard.
The assumption is that offers have centered around prospects, futures and spare parts, which is not at all what the Jets are looking for.
