Brayden Point Out of Game 5 Lineup for Lightning

Brayden Point will not play in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will have to try and eliminate the New York Islanders without one of their best offensive weapons as Brayden Point is a no-go for Game 5.

According to a number of reports, Point is not going to be in the lineup as the Lightning try and secure their spot in the Stanley Cup Finals. This is a big blow for the Lightning. Blake Coleman said of his contributions to date: “I’d go as far as to say he’s the most dangerous guy in the playoffs this year.” The Lightning took Game 4 by a score of 4-1, including one goal and one assist by Point who left the game after being hit by defenseman Adam Pelech at 10:09 of the third period.

The Islanders will try to stave off elimination, putting Semyon Varlamov in net and hoping they can keep their playoff hopes alive. The Lightning know that despite leading the series Islanders 3-1, they shouldn’t look past an Islanders team that has looked good up to this point. Jon Cooper noted that ‘we’re playing too good of a team, and I can tell you right now they’re not looking ahead.’
