4. The Boston Celtics
Celtics GM Danny Ainge made some magic happen last summer to land the highly coveted Kyrie Irving. The deal included All-Star Isaiah Thomas as well as Boston’s first round pick in 2018. Could he do the same with The Spurs? Boston has a treasure trove of assets, including rookie Jayson Tatum, who has shown his value as The Celtics have worked their way to the Eastern Conference Finals. Could a Kawhi be the Robin to Kyrie’s Batman? Or would Ainge make ripples across the league again by including Irving in a trade to San Antonio, leaving his finals-worthy roster intact? This is an interesting option with many possibilities.

5. The Los Angeles Clippers
Could Kawhi end up going home, but on the other side of the Staples Centre? The Clippers are a team very interested in Leonard’s services. The Clippers find themselves in the middle of the pack. A team that lost Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, and have a questionable relationship with Deandre Jordan would definitely be looking for a boost. Kawhi instantly makes this team better, and there are many sources pointing to the Clippers putting together a serious trade package, if Kawhi hits the market.
Then again, this could all be moot with San Antonio reportedly offering Leonard a Super Max contract, rumoured to be in the $220M range over 5 years. Only time will tell where, and when, Kawhi will suit up this season.
