Pastrnak Hesitant to Sign Long-Term with Bruins
The Boston Bruins as an organization have had little trouble keeping star talent around over the years, but that may not be the case when it comes to David Pastrnak.

According to Czech analytic gurus Andy & Rono, the 26-year-old isn’t wanting to discuss an extension at this time, despite the teams desire to get something done in the near future. This rumor comes just months after reports dropped that the Bruins were considering moving him due to being far apart on contract talks.

Andy & Rono went on to explain that Pastrnak’s main goal is to win a Stanley Cup, meaning he wants to sign with a team who will give him a great shot at doing so. While the Bruins are expected to be a competitive team in 2022-23, it may very well be the last season for two of their top players in Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. If they do indeed retire, the Bruins have one of the worst prospect pipelines in the NHL, meaning there could be some dark days ahead.
For what it’s worth to Bruins fans, well known Boston radio host Michael Felger spoke about this rumor on the Felger & Mazz show on Wednesday, saying he thinks it has zero validity and that Pastrnak will happily re-sign if he gets an offer he feels is fair. Speaking on how much that offer should be, Felger suggested that $10-10.5 million is likely the cost it will take to keep him in the fold.
Though that number may seem high to some, Pastrnak truly has developed into one of the games elite offensive producers, while particularly being known for his goal scoring ability. In 72 games last season, he managed 40 goals and 77 points. Those totals should increase even further in 2022-23, as he is expected to be paired back up with Krejci on the teams second line.
