NHL Weekend Rumors: Zacha, Kadri, Panarin and More Making Noise

Latest NHL weekend rumors: Zacha trade talks, Flames moves after poor start, and who is in on Yegor Chinakhov.

This weekend in the NHL rumors report, there is talk that the Boston Bruins might be open to moving one of Pavel Zacha or Casey Mittelstadt. Meanwhile, how likely is a Nazem Kadri trade out of Calgary, now that his contract clause has switched over? Which teams are looking at Yegor Chinakhov, and is there anything more on trade rumors surrounding Artemi Panarin, Nazem Kadri, and Rasmus Andersson?

Canucks and Boston: Pavel Zacha, Casey Mittelstadt

The Vancouver Canucks continue to search for a centerman, and reports suggest they’re actively inquiring about Pavel Zacha of the Boston Bruins. David Pagnotta noted on Sekeres & Price that both Zacha and Casey Mittelstadt are players who could appeal to Vancouver, while Rick Dhaliwal added the Canucks “are working the phones very, very hard” to find their target.

Elliotte Friedman confirmed that talks between Boston and Vancouver on Zacha date all the way back to this past summer, but the Bruins have set a high asking price for Zacha.

Nazem Kadri and Mackenzie Weegar Trade Chatter

Calgary Flames GM Craig Conroy is reportedly exploring the trade market, considering the unbelievably poor start to the season the Flames are having. Now 1-7-1 on the season, questions about how much players like Nazem Kadri, MacKenzie Weegar, and Rasmus Andersson are going to want to stick with the team are out there.

Elliotte Friedman pointed out Kadri is approaching 1,000 career games, and the Flames may want him to reach that milestone before considering a move. David Pagnotta also noted that Mackenzie Weegar remains a player of interest for multiple teams, while the Flames are actively gauging potential trade options to boost their lineup.

Trade talk continues around Calgary’s Rasmus Andersson, with his preference reportedly being Vegas or Dallas.

Yegor Chinakhov and the Blue Jackets

Columbus forward Yegor Chinakhov has a new agent, Rick Komarow, who has permission to speak directly with teams about a trade. The Blue Jackets are open to moving him, and Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports multiple teams—including Toronto, Detroit, Florida, Buffalo, and Calgary—have inquired about the young winger.

Friedman noted that the Leafs’ trade offer to send Nick Robertson to Columbus for Chinakhov was declined.

Panarin, Robertson, and Other Forward Rumors

The New York Islanders remain a point of curiosity in the Artemi Panarin sweepstakes, with Elliotte Friedman noting the New York Rangers are still trying to figure out if Panarin is someone they want to invest big money in long-term.

Meanwhile, Frank Seravalli flagged Jason Robertson of Dallas as a low-key name that could attract attention if teams are willing to structure a trade.

The Islanders may listen on Jean-Gabriel Pageau but aren’t highly motivated to move him.

Ottawa continues negotiations with forward Shane Pinto, but there is a lot of work still to be done. A bridge deal might be the best fit for both sides.
