Harley, 24, has been a key contributor on Dallas’ blue line over the past three seasons. Since becoming a full-time NHL player in 2023-24, he has recorded 32 goals and 105 points in 166 regular-season games, adding four goals and 18 points across 37 playoff contests. His +57 rating, strong possession metrics, and high on-ice save percentage highlight his two-way impact.

Last season, Harley tallied 16 goals and 34 assists in 78 games and added four goals and 10 assists in 18 playoff games. This season, through nine games, he already has eight points. He also represented Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, contributing an assist in the 3-2 overtime win over the United States.

While the $10.5875 million cap hit pushes the Stars’ salary flexibility, locking in Harley alongside other core players like Esa Lindell and Miro Heiskanen ensures Dallas remains competitive on their blue line for many years. GM Jim Nill has paid full price, but secured one of the league’s rising defense stars.
