Hyman, an astute entrepreneur who owns a gaming and media holding company Eleven Holdings Corp. has also written several children’s books and is a well-paid player in the NHL. His father Stuart is a well-known real estate developer and entrepreneur. He is chairman and Governor of the Markham Royals and the Chairman of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).

The Bulldogs were owned by Michael Andlauer for the past decade. Andlauder is the owners of the Ottawa Senators.

Andlauer purchased the team in 2015, relocating the then-Belleville Bulls to Hamilton. Under his ownership, the Bulldogs achieved considerable success, winning OHL championships in 2018 and 2022. In 2023, the team moved to Brantford.

Future Unclear for the Brantford Bulldogs

It’s not clear what this change in ownership would mean in terms of the team staying in Brantford, where the Bulldogs have been well received. There were plans for a new $140 million sports and entertainment center. It’s not clear if those plans will change.

How Zach Hyman will be involved if at all, remains to be seen. Plans for the franchise are expected to be unveiled after an OHL meeting on Monday, and a subsequent press conference on Wednesday.
