Nikita Zadorov Signs 2-Year Extension With Flames
Nikita Zadorov has re-signed with the Calgary Flames on a two-year deal worth $3.75 million per season.
On a day where the Calgary Flames probably feel like they took a big ”L” in the win/loss column of free agency, the team did take care of an important piece of business by signing defenseman Nitika Zadorov to a two-year extension. The deal comes in at $3.75 million per season.
A shutdown defender, he’s a useful asset thar can play a ton of physical minutes on a physically-inclined team. On most nights, Zadorov is a third-pairing guy. He can step up if needed.
The talk was that the Flames always wanted to keep him but needed to know what was happening with Johnny Gaudreau. When Gaudreau bolted for Columbus, the Flames had some extra money to keep their guy.
