Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild might be willing to trade a high-salary player to free up cap space. The Calgary Flames have shot down any rumors of trading Rasmus Andersson, and the Edmonton Oilers are giving Noah Philp a “test drive” ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline.

Noah Philp Gets Called Up by the Oilers
After is was announced that the Edmonton Oilers had called up AHL forward Noah Philp, Oilers Now host Bob Stauffer noted, “Don’t be surprised to see the Edmonton Oilers “test drive” Philp for a stretch of games if he performs well. Has played 2nd line center, 2nd unit PP, and seen significant PK time with the Condors. If Philp can play well, it answers one of the organization’s questions about the trade deadline.
Connor McDavid talked about 2025 and what he wants out of the year, while Adrian Kempe was fined for his slew-foot to McDavid during Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Flames Say No to Rasmus Andersson Trade
There was a report that defenseman Rasmus Andersson might have been open to a trade out of Calgary. He said he’d like to stay, but it was not in his control, and the organization held the cards. On Tuesday, the organization, specifically GM Craig Conroy) said they were not trading him. Why are the Flames turning down what could be a king’s ransom at the deadline?

Wild Willing to Trade Big Contract for Cap Space?
Michael Russo of The Athletic appeared on Sportsnet’s 590‘s The Fan Hockey Show and discussed how aggressive the Minnesota Wild might be ahead of the trade deadline.
