NHL Trades and Rumors
Jets F Jack Roslovic Has Officially Asked for a Trade
Jack Roslovic from Winnipeg Jets has asked for a trade. His agent has made it public that the winger wants out.
According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Jack Roslovic has officially asked the Winnipeg Jets for a trade out of the organization. Already disgruntled with the fact the two sides haven’t come to terms on a deal and wanting a change of scenery based on how the organization wants to use him, moments after GM Kevin Cheveldayoff spoke with media about the fact Roslovic was still unsigned, the forward’s agent relayed information that his client says he wants out.

Accoring to LeBrun, agent Claude Lemieux has told the TSN Hockey Insider that his client has requested the Jets move him. LeBrun said simply, “So we’ll see where this goes…”
This comes after the Jets GM said whatever happens with Roslovic, it would require some sort of quarantine and that he wasn’t even sure the forward was in Winnipeg. Clearly, things didn’t sound close to resolved, even though Cheveldayoff refused to elaborate.
All he would say was:
“So, obviously, he’s an RFA and currently not signed, and to my knowledge, currently not in Winnipeg. Moving forward, there is going to be a quarantine situation, whenever we come to an agreement.”
Primarily as a bottom-six winger with the Jets, Roslovic is thinking he’ll fit better where he’s got an offensive opportunity to be a bigger part of a team’s offense and play center.

Another Bad Situation for the Jets
Already in the news because he wants a change of scenery, Patrik Laine has garnered much the attention in Winnipeg this offseason. The entire time, however, Roslovic has been unhappy with where he slots in with the team.
It’s not an ideal situation. The Jets have had top-six centre depth for a few seasons, and because Roslovic has been unable to make a dent in the lineup at that position, he wants out. He had 12 goals and 29 points last season, but he’s hardly a player that is going to be highly coveted by other NHL teams, which is probably why the Jets have been unable to move him to date.
