Wild Trade G Cam Talbot to Senators

The Minnesota Wild have decided, after signing Marc-Andre Fleury, to trade Cam Talbot. Talbot was rumored to be less-than thrilled with the fact Fleury was given more money. That had a lot to do with the trade. GM Bill Guerin said, “what’s transpired over the last little while,” it was best to move on from Talbot so “that way there’s no drama and controversy.” In the end, Talbot has been moved to the Ottawa Senators for Filip Gustavsson.

As per Darren Dreger, ”A lot when on last week in Montreal and Wild GM Bill Guerin wanted the opportunity to speak directly with Cam Talbot. My sense is Guerin didn’t want to go into the season with any source of unrest.” Pierre LeBrun adds, ”And in case anyone was wondering, while very much enjoying his tenure in Minnesota, am told that Cam Talbot is definitely happy to be going to Ottawa.”
