Sergei Bobrovsky Pays for Picking Fight with Sharks’ Alex Nedeljkovic
Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky picked a fight with San Jose Sharks’ Alex Nedeljkovic. Bobrovsky didn’t exactly win the fight.
Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky charged the length of the ice on Monday night to fight San Jose Sharks’ Alex Nedeljkovic. It was a spirited tilt. Unfortunately for Bobrovsky, the initiator, he didn’t exactly win the fight.
Nedeljkovic was wrapped up in a scrum around his net. While he wasn’t overly involved or incredibly physical, Bobrovsky obviously saw something he didn’t like. He skated the length of the ice and into the Sharks’ netminder at full speed.
It took a few seconds for both goaltenders to get their masks off, but eventually, they did. The rest of the fighting on both sides stopped as the two netminders went at it.

While a lot of wild punches didn’t land, what Nedeljkovic threw seemed to have more impact than what Bobrovsky did. Ultimately, it was Nedeljkovic who took the Florida goalie to the ice. Footage of the Sharks’ bench erupting in laughter and excitement made it onto the television screens, as the Sharks players believed their guy had won the battle.
You don’t see goalie fights very often, but this was entertaining, even if no major punches landed.
