Oilers Offer Injury Update Timeline on Tristan Jarry

The Edmonton Oilers offered an injury update timeline on Tristan Jarry and talked about Connor Ingram’s role.

Ahead of Sunday’s game between the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights, head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed that goaltender Tristan Jarry will be out for at least two weeks. “Nothing too specific, he’s going to be out for a couple of weeks. We won’t see him until the New Year, at some point.”

Knoblauch wouldn’t offer anything specific in terms of what the injury is and how he was hurt.

Connor Ingram, who will start Sunday against Vegas, will be asked to fill a role for the Oilers. Those duties will be split between Ingram and Calvin Pickard for the remainder of the season. “Anytime you have a new player, especially your starting goaltender, you want to allow him to be comfortable. Nothing better than making him feel comfortable. Playing a good defensive game, not giving up chances, and keeping everything out on the perimeter as much as possible. Hopefully, we can get an early lead and settle those nerves.”

The Oilers feel like Ingram will do fine with Jarry out. “He’s played a lot of NHL games, obviously not any for a while, not since last year, but we feel it’s somebody that’s shown he’s a good quality goaltender that adds to our goaltending depth.”
