He also made a game-saving play in the final minute as the Avs ended the New York Rangers’ 10-game point streak. Makar now has 18 goals, which is first among NHL defensemen. Artturi Lehkonen scored the game-winner with 15 seconds left as the Avalanche foiled the Rangers’ late comeback.
