Jarry on IR and Oilers Call Up Ingram, Amid Roster Moves
The Edmonton Oilers have put Tristan Jarry on IR, and have called up Connor Ingram from the AHL, amid other roster moves.
The Edmonton Oilers announced roster moves on Friday following the injury to goaltender Tristan Jarry. The Oilers’ newest goaltender has been placed on IR, while Jack Roslovic has been moved to LTIR and Connor Ingram has been called up.
Jarry exited Thursday’s game against the Boston Bruins and did not return. Backup Calvin Pickard came in and finished off the game, helping the Oilers get a win. After the game, Pickard said of Jarry’s injury, “It didn’t look good.” Jarry is flying to Edmonton to be evaluated by doctors and will not be on the rest of the Oilers’ road trip.

While the severity of the injury was unclear at the time, the Oilers confirmed Friday that he has been placed on injured reserve. In a corresponding move, Edmonton recalled goaltender Connor Ingram from the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors. Ingram’s numbers have not been good, but the Oilers have limited options.
Recalling Ingram was the logical move. Edmonton brought him in to be an NHL option, and now they’ll see what he has. The AHL numbers aren’t great, but they don’t tell the whole story. If Jarry is out, the Oilers need to know what the man they acquired in trade can offer before they make another one.
Don’t be surprised if he gets a start in goal for the Oilers in one of their weekend games. Edmonton plays Minnesota on Saturday afternoon and the Vegas Golden Knights at home on Sunday.
Here is a summary of the Oilers’ moves:

Tristan Jarry (G)
