Jack Roslovic Has the Oilers Big Guys’ Backs

Jack Roslovic missed the start of the season—but now he’s become one of the Edmonton Oilers’ most important pieces.

Jack Roslovic didn’t exactly hit the ground running with the Oilers this season. Given his late start to the season, there were some questions about how quickly he’d get back into the groove. But as assistant coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters, Roslovic has turned that uncertainty into something real for the team.

“Jack’s been a great addition,” Knoblauch said. “He came in later, missed the start, missed training camp, and it always takes time to get your legs under you. But it didn’t take him long at all. For him to score at the rate he has been pretty remarkable.”

Roslovic’s Numbers Back Up Knoblauch’s Praise

The numbers back up Knoblauch’s praise. Roslovic scored again last night against the Winnipeg Jets and now has 11 goals and 19 points in just 27 games this season. Missing the first 11 games and jumping right into the lineup, that’s solid work for a guy who was supposed to be more of a depth piece than a headline-maker.

What stands out most is his secondary scoring. Edmonton relies heavily on its stars to drive the offence, but secondary scoring has been a significant need. Roslovic has jumped into that role. His scoring helps keep the Oilers’ top lines off the board. He’s the perfect balance. “That’s been the biggest boost for us,” Knoblauch noted. “The team needed that, and he’s delivered.”

Roslovic’s Return from an Injury Happened at the Perfect Time

Roslovic’s return from long-term injured reserve also came at a time of roster shuffling. Connor Clattenburg moved to LTIR due to an eye injury, and Quinn Hutson was loaned to Bakersfield, opening the door for Roslovic to slot back in seamlessly. The timing couldn’t have been better: he immediately became a factor in the Oilers’ lineup and has contributed in all the ways the coaching staff hoped for.

Knoblauch’s message was simple: Roslovic might have missed part of the season, but when he’s in, he makes a difference. Scoring, work ethic, fitting in seamlessly—he’s quietly become a key piece for Edmonton.

Roslovic Adds Depth to an Oilers Team that Needs It

The thing about a player like Roslovic is that he adds balance and depth, and the rest of the team knows someone’s got their back if the big stars hit a rough patch. For the Oilers, that kind of reliability can make all the difference down the stretch.
