Henrique’s 15-Game Injury Changes the Picture for the Oilers Right Now

Adam Henrique is on injured reserve, impacting the Oilers’ lineup as they adjust without him for the next 15 games.

The Edmonton Oilers have placed veteran forward Adam Henrique on injured reserve and have revealed his expected return won’t be until after the Olympic break. While his injury might not be a seven-week issue, it will be that long before he’s playing again, seeing as the league will take time off between February 6 and February 24.

That means, no Henrique for the next 15 games. It’s a loss for the Oilers that will require they fill that gap with another center.

On Tuesday, the make-shift line of Matt Savoie, Ike Howard, and Jack Roslovic worked well together and had some early chemistry. Head coach Kris Knoblauch will likely run it back against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, hoping that the early chemistry turns into actual offensive production.

On the fourth line, the Oilers will likely reinsert Trent Frederic into the lineup, hoping he can produce more than he has in the first 40 games this season.

In 43 games so far this season with the Oilers, Henrique has recorded two goals, eight assists, and 10 points. He’s having a down year following a 2024-25 season in which he scored 12 goals, 15 assists, 27 points, and a plus-2 rating in 82 games for the Oilers.
