Cooley Makes Mammoth History With Electrifying 4-Goal Night
Logan Cooley scores four goals and five points, sealing his place in Utah Mammoth history. Read about his astounding performance.
Logan Cooley secured a spot in Utah Mammoth franchise history on Monday night, scoring four goals and five points in the game versus the Vegas Golden Knights. In the performance, he created a stat line that broke several team records and placed him among the top NHL players.
Cooley put points on the board in the opening period, yet it was his dominance in the third period that turned a solid performance into a defining highlight. The 21-year-old netted three straight goals, two being empty-net markers in the final minutes. It was his second natural hat trick this season, and he made history as the first Mammoth player to notch a four-goal game. His five-point performance also made him only the second Mammoth player to reach that milestone, joining Clayton Keller, who recorded a 1-4—5 stat line on Feb. 27, 2025.

The achievement was not merely a franchise record—it ranks among some of the greats. Recording yet another natural hat trick, he became the fourth player in NHL history to score multiple natural hat tricks within a single season at the age of 21 or younger. This elite group features Wayne Gretzky (four times during 1980-81), Patrik Laine ( in 2018-19), and Filip Forsberg (twice, in 2015-16). He also became the fifth player in NHL history to score the first two natural hat tricks for their franchise. Marian Gaborik, Wayne Gretzky, Pavel Bure, and Frank Boucher were the others.
If Monday night is any indication, the Mammoth may have a new franchise star in the making—and the rest of the league is officially on notice.
