Carter Hart Debut Date Set For Vegas Golden Knights
Speculation s that Carter Hart will make his NHL return on Tuesday, playing his first game for the Vegas Golden Knights.
According NHL insider and ESPN analyst Kevin Weekes, Carter Hart is set to make his NHL return and debut for the Vegas Golden Knights. Weekes writes, “Per sources, I’m told G Carter Hart is likely to make his debut start and return to @NHL action with @GoldenKnights this coming Tuesday night.”
Hart, signed for two years, has been conditioning in the AHL and was expected to be recalled with Adin Hill injured. Hart’s suspension ends Monday, making him eligible to be in the lineup, but he hasn’t played in the NHL in nearly two years.
The 27-year-old netminder went 1-2-0 with an .839 SV% in three games played with Henderson in the AHL.
The league reinstated five players acquitted in a 2018 sexual assault case, allowing contracts Oct. 15 and games Dec. 1. As expected, Hart’s return has not sat well with everyone. The Golden Knights said they gave serious thought to offering him a deal and only did so when they were comfortable with the decision. GM Kelly McCrimmon said, “I think his abilities on the ice are good, but we wouldn’t have crossed that threshold if we didn’t believe in the person.”
To make room for Hart, Carl Lindbom has been assigned to the AHL on the heels of his first career NHL win.
