Brady Tkachuk Livid About Rumors Swirling Around the Ottawa Senators
Brady Tkachuk spoke for the first time since rumors around Linus Ullmark and the Ottawa Senators spiraled out of control.
The Ottawa Senators have been under an intense spotlight in recent days, as rumors surrounding the reason for Linus Ullmark’s personal leave — now approaching the two-week mark — reached a fever pitch on Thursday.
We, of course, know that GM Steve Staios came out with a strong statement to deny what he called ridiculous speculation about completely false and fabricated stories. A few days later, the attention has turned to the players, with captain Brady Tkachuk facing questions about the matter for the first time.
Understandably so, Tkachuk was extremely upset with the rumors being spread about him and his teammates, expressing so in his media availability ahead of Saturday night’s game against the Florida Panthers.
“It’s pretty f****** b*******… I don’t think anybody’s pretty happy about a narrative being spread like that. I think it’s okay for people to critique our on-ice performance, but when it gets into family, it’s pretty f****** b*******,”
The 26-year-old Tkachuk is in the fifth season of the seven-year, $57,564,958 extension he signed with the Senators back in 2021. He’s produced 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 23 games so far on the campaign.
Brady Tkachuk Has Linus Ullmark’s Back
While Ullmark remains out of action for personal reasons, Tkachuk and the Senators are still supporting their star netminder through thick and thin. The captain spoke further about Ullmark, who has now been forced to deal with online speculation on top of whatever issues prompted his leave to begin with.

“Honestly I really feel bad for Linus. Nobody knows what he’s going through. But the fact that he has to even deal with this and even have to think about it. All we care about for him is getting what he needs and we’ve said from Day 1 that he has our support. Now that he has to deal with this it’s f****** mind blowing
It’s undoubtedly a very difficult situation for everyone involved, and while they’re doing their best to move forward and block out the noise, that’s easier said than done — something that was evident in Thursday night’s 8-2 loss in Colorado.
That being said, if the Senators want any chance of staying in the playoff race, they’re going to have to do just that, as they currently sit six points out of the final wild card spot with six teams to jump in the process.
