Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre Luc Dubois left Friday’s practice early after ‘something tightened up on him’. It wasn’t deemed a long-term injury and the expectation was he wouldn’t miss much time, if any at all. On Sunday, the story changed a little as head coach Paul Maurice says the 22-year-old could be out for a while.

Maurice said he’s not sure how much time Dubois will miss with what he called a mechanism of injury. He explained that it’s not so much an actual injury but more that something is just… off.
Maurice said Sunday.:
“I’ll tell you exactly what happened. The game ended, he went in to get some minor treatment, not on an injury, the normal feel-good. Left the rink feeling good. Came back out the next day, got on the ice and something wasn’t right. So we were just hoping it was going to loosen up.
Maurice added that it wasn’t an event or incident that bothered Dubois. He was just sore and everyone realized there was a little bit of a problem. “We’re not sure exactly how long it’s going to be. It might be a couple days, it might be a few more days than that,” the coach noted.
Not a Great Start to Dubois’ Run With the Jets
Dubois has played in just two games since being acquired by the Jets and he has yet to record his first point. He had to wait to get into action after being traded to the organization and he’s coming from a run with the Columbus Blue Jackets where he looked less-than interested in giving his full effort.
Dubois will not play Monday against the Edmonton Oilers but he is traveling with the Jets on their four-game road trip.
