Report: Bruins Ask About 2 Trade Options With Canucks, Only One Available
The Bruins have inquired about Canucks forwards Kiefer Sherwood and Conor Garland as Boston looks for scoring depth, which one is available?
The Boston Bruins are looking for scoring help, and they’ve turned their attention to Vancouver. According to multiple league sources, including James Murphy of RG.org, general manager Don Sweeney has recently checked in on Canucks forwards Kiefer Sherwood and Conor Garland, continuing Boston’s push to add depth in a crowded Eastern Conference race.
One source confirmed the Bruins “100 percent called on both players,” noting Boston believes an extra offensive boost could help them stay near the top of the standings. The interest comes even before injuries to David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha, which have only intensified the Bruins’ search.
Sherwood has quickly become one of the most talked-about names on Vancouver’s trade board. The 30-year-old entered Saturday with 12 goals and 16 points in 25 games, all while carrying a team-friendly $1.5 million cap hit in the final season of his contract. His production and affordability have drawn interest from several Eastern Conference teams, including the Islanders, Sabres, and Red Wings.

Garland, however, appears far less available. Despite Boston’s ongoing interest dating back to 2022, Vancouver continues to view him as a core piece. The 29-year-old has posted 15 points through 21 games and is only in the second year of his six-year contract. Murphy writes: “They still really consider him a core player and a heart-and-soul guy that can score, so right now, they’re not moving him,” the second source told RG. “Of course, if the Canucks really go into the tank and someone knocks their socks off with an offer, you never know.”
For now, the Bruins are watching closely — but only one of these Canucks forwards seems realistically in play.
